Michael Jordan recently spoke on the topic via press release:
"We are
thrilled that Blake is joining the brand," said Jordan. "Blake has
captured the essence of what the brand stands for through his style of play and
love for the game of basketball. He is an amazing athlete and person who we
look forward to working with for many years."
Griffin will
continue to wear the Jordan Super.Fly (seen below) throughout the entirety of
the season, and at this point it is uncertain if he is to receive his own
signature shoe in the future.

ESPN.com reports that Jordan
Brand, a subsidiary of Nike, accounted for 71 percent market share of the U.S.
basketball shoe market in 2011. Jordan Brand has
recently expanded its athlete roster into sports other than basketball, most
notably football with the signing of NFL wide receivers Michael Crabtree and Andre
Johnson. Other sports include baseball, track and field, and even NASCAR racing.
